Our Structure

We develop our web sites, applications and databases on our own dedicated equipment with systems that are reliable and highly secure. After thorough testing, the commission is deployed to premium commercial servers that we have found to be secure, reliable, robust, and that have high availability.

Initial Consultation

Your new website will form an important marketing arm of your business. The design and construction of it are processes we take very seriously. Progressing a website from an idea to reality can be complex and time consuming. Our team have devised a process that you will find simple and clear. When we are commissioned to build or redesign a web site we will explore your requirements and ideas with you. We will develop those ideas and create designs on our servers with a dedicated URL where you may view them in the live environment.

Home Page Design

This is the first page that visitors to your site will see. It will be an active page that attracts attention and is clean and professional. From this page it will be easy to navigate to other areas of the site. Any existing or new logo or typographic design will be agreed here. These designs are an integral part of your web site. Small changes made later can have a major effect on the look and balance of your site and may necessitate costly recoding. It is therefore sensible to finalize these features first and this will be our goal.

We will usually create several designs for your home page and you will be able to view these on your Client Testing Site (CTS). You will be able to give us direct feedback on the features that you wish to keep and those that you wish to be amended. Once we have agreed the home page we will move onto the secondary pages.

Secondary Page Design

The secondary page will usually be a template for all the other pages on the site. It will hold the majority of the information for your site and will be custom designed to suit your requirements, depending on the type of content to be displayed. As with the Home Page, we will create several different designs that you will be able to view on your CTS. You will have time to consider these designs and we can work together to discuss what you want to keep and change.

Site Content

While we are progressing the Home and Secondary Page designs we will liaise with you and gather the information you wish your clients to access on your site. We use this information to select an appropriate layout and navigation method for your site.

All text content is processed and placed in a Microsoft Word document. We prefer to incorporate as much of the digital text as possible into this document. This will form a main working document that we can exchange with you many times during the construction phase as text is amended. It will be version controlled and, as agreed content moves to the site, the document will diminish in size until the site is complete with final sign-off.

The above process has the advantage that you will be able to see your site on various screen formats and internet browsers and it will give you a feel for how the final pages will appear. We design our sites for Internet Explorer v6.0 and above with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels but test for compatibility with other browsers and screen resolutions. We will be available to guide you through this process if you require.

Quality Assurance

Prior to final sign off we will rigorously test your site on a variety of browsers to ensure the integrity of the code. This is an often neglected stage and will give your clients confidence in your site and project a professional image.

Subsequent Alterations

At an agreed date the site will be completed and signed off. Following this, any further minor changes will be incorporated into the Site Management Fee. Post sign off changes that are deemed to be major changes will be the subject of a further commission.
